Normal? Anxiety in preparation of a personal trainer?
I'm having major anxiety about my assessment with the personal trainer tomorrow.
I know it's because I've "hid" from my numbers for a very long time (10+ years) and only now decided to get my life into shape (inside + outside) but I can't stop stressing myself out about it.
I'm so afraid of what the personal trainer is going to say and do...I'm only starting to build up my stamina and I'm freaked out that he'll put me on the treadmill and expect me to jog for 30-60 seconds and I won't be able to do it.
Am I overreacting???

Dont worry! You'll be fine.
My personal trainer pushes me, but not to the point where its something I can't do, you know what I mean? They want to you to keep going to them...obviously you won't be able to go if you're hurt because you felll off the treadmill.
Before you start, I'd let him/her know about your anxiety. That way they can take that into consideration when working with you!
I have to say, working with a personal trainer is an awesome experience. I used one before my wedding and was in the best shape I've ever been in. I'm going to get one starting next week again and I can't wait!

That's a very good and valid point - they want me to come back.
Thanks so much - I'm hoping I'm just scared that someone else besides my hubby and my friend Meirav would know my weight and measurements and need to relax!

Chrissy you will do fine. Do not stress the numbers. Do one day at a time. Most personal trainers will evaluate you and see where your fitness levels are. They should push you a bit b/c you will need it and that is what they are there for. By no means though should they do anything where you will get hurt. Don't worry everything will work great. When I started with my PT she didnt weigh me or anything like that b/c I was more concerned about learning how to work out and use machines and toning b/c I was already doing WW and had lost most of my weight already. GOod Luck and don't worry you will do great! Also it is by far the best money I ever spent.
