I am sure this is normal but W T H (separation anxiety related)
So dd stays at nana and pop-pop's mon-wed while we work
she loves them and is always excited to see them
However, for the past few days, she FREAKS out when I go to hand her off to one of them when it is time for me to leave for work....On Monday, I was going to hand her to FIL (pop-pop) and she grabbed onto my shirt with both hands and would not let go, I literally had to pry her hands off of me
They said she only cried for a few minutes
then when I go to pick her up after work, as soon as I get there she starts crying and acting up, refusing to walk, wanting to be held by me, etc
This is a normal stage right?
Today, I actually sat down on IL's couch and talked to her for a minute and then placed her on the floor, she immediately went to her toy box and was happy as a clam, when I left, no crying so maybe it is just me actually handing her off to them that upsets her
Sorry so long.

I can totally relate....my DD is only 9 months & Nanny (MIL) watches her during the week when I'm working. Lately every am when I go to hand her off, she'll put her head into my chest and turn her head when Nanny goes to take her. But then she's fine and will wave bye bye to mommy.
When I come in the pm she stops whatever she is doing when I walk in.
I'm sure she'll grow out of it.

I swear - Lucas is going through the same thing right now.
Last week he would whimper when I dropped him off at daycare...then he got sick and we spent a long weekend together for him to re-coup...ever since it's been worse. He all out cries for me and comes crawling to the partition near the door for me. I swear my heart breaks into a million pieces to see that.
At night he actually screams at the teacher if he can't get to me fast enough. He gets so worked up so I grab him and have to get help to pack things up otherwise do it all with him in my arms.
Today was a little better with drop off...he started climbing up my leg but the teacher got him and distracted him. He whimpered a little and just kept staring at me while I walked away (bad to look back) but I waited and he never cried so that was good.
I do think it's a phase (I keep telling myself that) and hopefully it will pass....soon!

My mom and dad watch DD too and I have been having the same issue. When she sees me take my keys out she says NO NO NO and runs up to me even though she has more fun there than at home with me and DH!
What I do is let her play a little, then I give her a kiss and let her play some more and my dad usually takes her to the back room to show her a plant or something and I disappear

Re: I am sure this is normal but W T H (separation anxiety related)
I know our DC's are close in age. My DD is definitely in the midst of separation anxiety. She gets so upset if I leave the playroom to go ten feet away to change her brother. She stands up and holds onto the bars of the gate and whines. I have to bring her everywhere I go if I don't have her brother in my arms.
She doesn't even want daddy or Grandma and heck, there were days in the past she wanted Grandma and couldn't care less about me.
I just hope DS's stage starts after DD's end or I don't know what I'll do
