Oatmeal
I never really liked it but today in my cafeteria I tried a little taste of the plain oatmeal they sell. I put a sprinkle of brown sugar and a raisin in my bite. I liked it enough to want to do it for breakfast. And I know it's great for me and high in fiber and will keep me full.
But how bad is the brown sugar and raisins. I'm going back on WW online but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I guess I could use Truvia or something and limit my raisins.
Any insight?

Re: Oatmeal
If it's just a bit, it won't really hurt.
I like to put a half packet of Splenda and some cinnamon in mine

Re: Oatmeal
as long as you aren't putting alot in, i think it's fine! Just be careful with the how the oatmeal is prepared...I used to eat the oatmeal in our cafeteria every morning and then I found out the make it with heavy cream so it was a lot worse for me than I thought. I starting bringing in my own

Re: Oatmeal
I cut up strawberries and put it in mine. It gives it so much flavor and doesn't change the pointsplus value!

Re: Oatmeal
I eat oatmeal nearly every morning.
I use banana, almond milk and cinnamon in mine - the fruit sweetens it up nicely.

Re: Oatmeal
good point about the oatmeal and the heavy cream. Maybe that's why I liked it!
I will have to inquire.

Re: Oatmeal
Oatmeal is delicious!!! Welcome to the world of oatmeal - so healthy and hearty!
I too put fresh fruit in mine - blueberries/strawberries/bananas instead of adding sugar (I'm just not a fan of sugar.) I sometimes add granola too!
The one thing I just CANNOT get into is cottage cheese.

Re: Oatmeal
i usually eat my oatmeal a couple of ways:
i mix it with cocoa powder and a little agave, add a scoop of PB or almond butter in the middle *like a tsp* then add sliced bananas
i just add a little agave, tbs of PB and strawberries
or i put chopped walnuts and tons of blueberries on top

Re: Oatmeal
Love oatmeal!!! And it lowers cholesterol, something I need to do. There is a Splenda brown sugar, although recently, I noticed they're making it half Splenda, half reg. brown sugar. I also mix Splenda brown sugar and margarine, with canned carrots, and my DH and I really like them!!!! Mary

Re: Oatmeal
Oatmeal cooked with a cinnamon stick in it is out of this world. So simple and so healthy for you. I'm talking about real oatmeal, not insta-oats.

Re: Oatmeal
I found out the oatmeal was made with water. Today they ran out of brown sugar and now I know why I liked it. I ended up dumping it.

I love plain oatmeal with a little salt. I didn't think I'd like it, but it's delish!

Re: Oatmeal
I like to mix all kinds of things into oatmeal... besides fruit or splenda, I also have mixed in sugar-free syrup, peanut butter, honey, fruit-flavored yogurt, nuts (never all together though!)
