Insanity & Running
Anyone combine Insanity workouts with running? (Specifically long distance running) If so can I see what your schedule looks like?

Re: Insanity & Running
I never did that DVD, but had to laugh at the subject of the thread "insanity and running".
Seriously, I do a lot of workout DVDs and I just set aside my non-running days for those. Sometimes, I will do an easy 1-2 mile jog after the DVD if I want a little cardio. However, I'm probably no help since i have read about the Insanity DVD and it does not seem as if you would need to supplement it with anything on the same day! If it were me, I would not do the insanity DVD the day before or after a long run - unless it's a segment of it that doesn't target the legs.

Re: Insanity & Running
There only 1 rest day on insanity and i want to try to stick to their schedule as much as possible. I don't know where to squeeze the runs in, esp the long ones.

Gotcha. Well, how long of a workout is it each day? If you're doing the LI Half, you probably do not have to do very long runs until at least March - there's really no need to at this point, you have plenty of time to increase your mileage. So by March, your body will probably be adapted to the insanity. How are you feeling after you do the insanity? Could you do a run at some point that same day? IMO, you should take at least one rest day per week with no exercise, you don't want to overdo it.
