Our 5 month wait has turned into...... 2 days
Last week I finally got all the paperwork sent off to the developmental pediatrician in Boston.
I got a call this morning that they had a last minute cancellation and would we like to come in on Thursday. I almost said no!
DH is beyond nervous. I know that they're only going to tell us what we already know. Honestly I'm happy. Our insurance is already giving us grief about having all of these services without the diagnosis first (apparently "Global developmental delays" doesn't hold much weight)
Wish us luck. Thursday is the day..

It's so overwhelming but the sooner you can get a true diagnosis the better.
Our first ped. neurologist gave us a GDD diagnosis. You're right, it means nothing. The second one gave us PDD-NOS because she knew it would open up doors for us. And it did. Suddenly EI started giving us more services. So while I didn't like the PDD diagnosis, it was the best thing for my son.
Remember, we're here for you. It will be hard the first few days (and weeks) after hearing the words if that is what they will tell you. But we've all been there.
