What to do at the gym for a flatter stomach
I lost 2 1/2 lbs. so far (3 weeks at the gym) and toning up but it seems my stomach will just not get flatter.
Suggestions?

Planks are good for strenghtening the core. Also if your gym as a core ball (it has handles on the side) you can google some excercises to do with that.
As far as flattening your stomach- these excercises will strengthen your core but not necessarily flatten your stomach. Your diet also plays a major role in that. Try to cut down on alchohol, sugars, and sodium (which will bloat you).

Yes, I have cut down on those things. I tone up everywhere else but the stomach takes so long-- Thanks :)

Do you do a lot of cardio? Cardio = fat blaster

Tons of cardio.
My belly is my problem area. My trainer and I don't do too much traditional ab work and at first I was confused, but after a few weeks of intense cardio, plank, push ups etx, the belly started to melt away.
Make sure you're really challenging yourself on the machines.

Re: What to do at the gym for a flatter stomach
Whenever you are doing ab exercises make sure to pull your belly button in towards your back, you don't want your abs pushing out during exercising. This will help build your core muscles and slim down!

Re: What to do at the gym for a flatter stomach
Cardio!!! And lots of it. It's really the only way to get rid of belly fat. Strength workouts help, but they are mostly for toning. Focus on cardio first!
As far as strength workouts, I find that crunches, the stability ball, and jack knife sit ups help tone my stomach the most.
Good luck!

Re: What to do at the gym for a flatter stomach
Cardio!! Also while doing any exercise think to yourself "belly tight!!" and it will help your posture and help you to tighten up those muscles in your stomach even when you are not traditionally working your stomach! Good luck!
