Stupid pet owner!

I just wanted to vent about this because I was so scared!

I took my dogs to the dog park this morning. They were still in the car and as I was getting out, the man in the park yells at me and says, hey young lady can you wait until I take my dogs out....

So I said yeah sure (even though the sign at the park says if your dogs aren't friendly with others to please take them home)

So I wait....he starts to bring them out and tells me again, can you wait because "my dogs will rip up your dogs for sure" . Now first of all, my dogs (black labs) are still sitting in the car, so they're not out yet....

so when he comes out, his two HUGE pit bulls come out, NO LEASHES, one comes running at me. The owner starts yelling at him to come....he sees I'm nervous and tells me "you'll be fine you'll be fine relax"

Ummmm, Sorry, but YOUR dogs are the ones that "will rip my dogs up" and they're off leash and you're telling ME to relax?

He pulls his one dog away, he gets loose again, comes running at me, and finally the owner grabs him and drags him away

I was SOOOOO PO'd! And scared! *****

Sorry, I just had to vent b/c that was such a bad owner. First if your dogs are that bad to others as you claim, why are you taking them to public parks UNLEASHED

holy crap.. thank god you are ok!!! what time was this.. bc in NYC i think your dogs can be off the leash before 8 am and after 8 pm (i think) but wth.. if you have dogs that have behavioral issues, then have them on a leash and away from a damn dog park.. if he's a regular, i'd complain.. my safety and my dogs safety takes precedence over his dog running around w/o a leash..

I would have told him he should not be there if his dogs are going to rip my dogs apart. But I would have said this from the safety of my car. That's not good at all. I am glad you are all ok.

people are insane!!
a few weeks ago, i was walking with bag of groceries and i had bought some sausage that day.. i'm very friendly with animals when i walk pas them.. and this lady and her was walking towards me.. and in a split second, he pulled away from her and was running towards me full speed.. i dropped my bag and was "bracing" for an attack.. the STOOOOPID STOOOPID lady starts laughin and says sorry.. he must have smelled meat..

omg thats very scary... at least he had the sense to tell you that his dogs might be dangerous to yours... theres hope for him lol

People are dumb, I let my Odie off the leash but only where I can keep an eye on him, and only in closed areas. It's not HIM I'm worried about it's the other people!
I'm so glad you are ok, and I would have totally said something to him.
If you run into him again, have a camera or something with you so you can document in case his dogs DO rip someone apart. (oh God please don't let them hurt anybody!)
