should i make a doctors appt or wait it out?
so i've been jogging/running more and more lately. usually, i'll run 5 days a week for 3-3.5 miles at a speed between 6 and 6.5mph.
last wednesday i ran close to 5 miles. during the last 15 minutes of the run i would run every other minute at a speed of 6.7 i felt great and was so proud that i was able to do that! but boy did i feel it the next few days. thursday and friday my calves were KILLING ME! so i tooka break from running until yesterday (4 day break)
yesterday, i get back on the treadmill and ran 2.5 miles. in the middle of the run, i feel the pain coming back again. so i didn't push it yesterday. and today the pain is crazzzyyyy again!
i stretch and drink enough water throughout the day. do you think i should go to the doctor or give it a couple days? idk if it's something serious or if i should really be concerned..
any opinions?

Maybe you pulled something and the 4 day break gave it a chance to start healing.... but then re-injured it yesterday... maybe it needs more time to heal....
...if it hurts really bad or if you're that concerned, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor... but he'll probably send you for more tests, like an MRI or something... when I had pain and swelling in my ankle, the doctor did sent me for an MRI...
....feel better

It could just be cramps related to you pushing the muscle more. I know you said that you stretch---to most people that means 1 minute of stretching before and after a run. Stretching should be much longer than that and some people need to massage their muscles along with stretching.
