Asthma people please...esp with tree triggers..

Josh, 4 years old, is really bad this time of year and in OCt with tree counts up.

We were at tball practice last night...I noticed his eyes weren't looking good...he did have a slight attack on the field, needed puffer.

Last night very congested. We were up a lot...treatments and allergy meds.

Did a treatment at 8:30 this AM...will do another soon.
He is congested but breathing okay.

He doesn't want to go to practice today at 1.
Says he is too sick.

Since he is breathing okay, do i still send him?
I am nervous all the time that he will let asthma stop him from doing things. I don't want him to fear it...but on the other hand, I don't have asthma, so I have no idea what he goes through.
My parents think I am too much at times, that I should listen to him about it and follow his lead...

checked tree count in charlotte, it is sky high this week.

tia!

If he feels like I have felt in the past, I wouldn't send him. Chat Icon

Since you saw how he struggled yesterday, I would probably skip today. But I would continue to push him. Maybe tell him to give it a try but if he has any issues you will leave immediately without questions and he just needs to say the word.

I know with my asthma sometimes its easy to 'check out' but if someone was to talk me into something I could go do it with no issues and enjoy it. Part of it is the fear of having another attack. If you reassure him that you will have no issues with leaving if HE wants to then he might be more willing to try.

If it became a regular occurance that he is always saying no then I'd be concerned that either a) its mental or b) his asthma is not controlled enough.

I totally agree with this.

I know that we have spoken about this before. I suffer from Asthma and just had my meds changed again. However, I am starting to work with an herbalist. I figure that the Chinese have lived a lot longer then we have, so they must know something I don't. I don't want to take meds any more. They screw with my wt and now that is out of control!

But dig deep because it is going to be a rough allergy season this year!

Re: Asthma people please...esp with tree triggers..

thanks all!

DH came home from work to pick josh up...josh said he can't go today.
DH told him that's okay, how about they just go to the store for new cleats...Josh said he can't move...the kid would never turn down shopping with leo...so staying home it is.

He hasn't left the couch since 8 this morning...I think he is wiped out.

I appreciate the responses. Chat Icon My mother called, I cried. She cried. It is only asthma, but 27 min treatments, missing tball, the kid just doesn't deserve this.
That's life though.

BigB-do you have a book you can recommend?
I read a great one on the body's process to heal itself and was hooked.
tia!
good luck this season!
