I want to drop DCs language class....

is this wrong? She gets Sp Ed and ST each 3x/week. One day a week I taker her to a language class mommy and me style at a place about 15 minute drive from my house. She is fine until it is time to stop free play and then she cries the whole time. It is a VERY small place. We are all on top of each other and I have "personal space" issues so it's very uncomforatbale for me. I leave every time with a migraine and she is in a horrible mood and we have ST about an hour after the class ends so that mood carries over to ST and she already is not very fond of the STist so that just makes it worse.
I wanted the class to help her get ready for the preschool setting. Her sibs are teenagers and I am in my 40's with no friends with little ones so she rarely sees other kids, espcially since it's been winter.
I feel so overwhelmed with having people in my house all the time and now add another thing to the mix which she hates.
WWYD?
She had the first part of her CPSE eval yesterday. Second part next week and the meeting on 4/12.

Always, always go with your gut. If it isn't working, don't force it. I personally used to take my dd to a class like that and it didn't work out for us either. We traveled about 45 minutes for it. I stopped with about a month more sessions to go. Never looked back.

Good luck with CPSE evals and the meeting. We are dealing with that as well.

I totally agree with feeling overwhelmed with everyone in your hosue. My DS gets ABA therapy 5x per week, twice a day! Then we get parent training on top of that once a week. It's enough to drive me crazy sometimes.

I would definitely agree with go with your gut. It's too much services it seems and that isn't always a good thing. Good luck and stay strong!

Re: I want to drop DCs language class....

Well I just got back and I'm a little annoyed but happy at the same time. She still cried but less but the big thing was that this week she sat in her chair when she was supposed to. She cried off and on & she wouldn't particiapte in the coloring but she sat. And she also stayed put during snack time. HOWEVER, several times I caught the therapist shooting glances to her assisant like "OMG this kid is a pain" Not happy about that at all. Last week I brought DH with me and he said he felt the same woman seemed frustrated with Zoey's lack of cooperation and then this week this. My ST asked me if I said something and I didn't because, like Zoey, I have a low frustration level! I have a tendency to go from 0 to 60 with certain things -especially if it's something like this- and I'm already stretched to the limit emotionally with this so I don't have a lot of reserves left. I will say that if she hadn't shown that little bit of improvement and sat in the chair, that would have been the last time I went there. The woman is also very "handsy" with her-pullling her, etc and trying to physically sit her in the chairs, etc. and I'm not down with that either. She tried to pick her up and put her in the chair and this woman is like 4 feet 9 and 90 pounds and Zoey is a solid 32 lbs and VERY strong so....not so much! A big fear of mine with sending her to school is that right now she can't tell me if something is not right when I am not with her-be it an adult or another child. More stress. Ugh. I'm going to leave her there for now and see if she continues to improve. She definitely needs help adjusting to a school setting so I want to give this more of a chance.
Any suggestions for what seems to be the therapist's "low tolerance for frustration"? (which is funny because that's what she wrote about Z in her progress report.) Thanks for the support and advice.
