Swelling

I woke up this morning and my ankles, feet and fingers are swollen! I'm 30 weeks now...isn't that a little early? I'm seeing my OB and high risk doctors on Thursday. I know my high risk doctor is going to enforce my strict bed rest! Chat Icon

Re: Swelling

i had it pretty early on, once the weather started to get warm it started so i think its completely normal. when you get home keep your feet elevated, i bought a pillow speciifcally for that.

Re: Swelling

My swelling started really early on, maybe like 17 weeks. Just try to put your feet up as much as possible. Also massages bringing the blood flow back to your heart. At least it is getting warm and you can wear flip flops. Also make sure you drink alot of water.

Re: Swelling

I dodged swelling with my twin pregnancy. But with my DS I had it really bad starting at about 27 weeks. By 31 weeks I was on bedrest.

Try to lay on your left side with your feet elevated above your heart. Helps circulation and blood flow which should help reduce swelling.

Re: Swelling

I've had it too with both of my pregnancies. My feet/ankles are really bad. I just try to put my feet up as much as possible. That really helps. The nurse told me to try compression socks/pantyhose, but I never got them. My dr. doesn't seem too concerned since everything else looks fine (blood pressure, etc.)
