Cow Harbor 2011

Who else is running Cow Harbor this year?

I didn't register yet but I will be there!!! Chat Icon

I ran it for the 1st time last year and it was an horrible experience because my iPod malfunctioned on me right before that 1st big hill..... I depend on my music and my Nike+ stats to keep me going/motivated when I run. Needless to say I was really upset and completely lost my focus and motivation. Thank god for the crowd cheering you on because I think I really would have quit without their support. I was hoping to come in under 1 hr 10 minutes but I ended up doing it in 1 hr 16 minutes.

I am looking forward to having a much better experience this year. I plan to have my Nike+ GPS watch by then. This way even if I don't have any music I can still keep track of my pace!

Re: Cow Harbor 2011

I am so incredibly sad that I won't be able to run. I have run it every year minus 3 years I lived in CA, since the mid 90s. i will be only 4 weeks pp, so as much as I'm itching to, I wont. Its my running club, so I'll be volunteering on the course.

I think I'm going to do it this year. I keep hearing such great things about this race & I love the 10K distance.

Re: Cow Harbor 2011

I think I am going to skip it. I did it last year and although it is a great course and the community is amazing I felt it was such a long day for a less than hour run it was all day long. I live about 20 minutes away so then once you get there you have to be bused to location then afterwards was a nightmare to wait online to be bused back. It was a lot and not worth it to me. Although I must say If I lived locally I would def do it and I highly recommend it. It's a nice course and I did have lots of fun even thought it was soooo HOT!

Re: Cow Harbor 2011

I'm thinking about signing up as motivation pp. I'm due May 25, so that give me about 4 months which is probably enough time to get me in shape to complete it. But I'll probably wait to see how labor and delivery go before officially signing up.
