Anyone ever do the Philadelphia half marathon?
DH wants us to do this in November - his sister lives in Cherry Hill so we can stay with her - I'm thinking of doing it - but I want to do the Diva Half Oct 2 - this half is Nov 20 - is that enough time between races?
Any input on Philadelphia?

I did the Philadelphia Half last year and loved it. It was probably one of the best races I've ever ran. The crowd support is amazing, the expo is huge, the run itself is beautiful! Its a wonderful experience. I would love to do again this year as well.
I also ran the Diva last year and like you I was worried about the time frame. Diva was my first half and Philly was second.
Not only that but I got hurt after the DIva and took off 2 weeks! My training wasn't 100% but I still ran Philly 2 minutes FASTER than the Diva! Its defintely enough time to recover!
If you decide you can't do both and want to choose between the two, I would go with the Philly Half- the experience is 10x better. However, you should be good with both.

Thanks!!!! There was one point during the half when that was all I was thinking. "I'm crazy. WHAT the hell am I doing running 13.1 miles? Have I lost my mind???" 
I saw someone wearing a t-shirt like this and thought - YES!!!
and now - here I am - planning to do 2 more!!!! 
Are you planning on doing Philly?

Yes lol I know the feeling all too well. But when its over the feeling of accomplishment beats out that craziness feeling.
I may or may not do Philly based on a number of factors. First of all, I'll only do it if my dad does (we made it a family trip last year...we're a little corny with our "racing" trips lol) and DH & I are TTC so that could make it not possible!

Awww poo, I wish I could join you guys, especially considering I live only 10 miles away from Philly, but there's no way in hell I'll be ready for a half marathon in just a few months... the farthest I've run at this point is 5 miles

I did the fully rock and roll half last year in September and let me tell you it was amazing! I have done several half's and this was by far my favorite course. There were about 20,000 ppl that did it and there were elite runners there and all. It was amazing. I may do it again this year! I highly recommend it!

I know people who have run the NYC and Philly back to back. From what I've heard, Philly is a very fun race and best of all, the course is relatively flat, unlike NYC.

I'm thinking of either doing the Philly half or full this year depending on how my foot is....having some issues with plantar fasciitis. I did the Diva last year and it was okay, but I think I'd rather do something different this fall.
Beth...you can totally do the Philly half. You have plenty of time to train!

I did not do Philly, but I did the Steamtown Marathon and it was awesome!.....It's a good first time marathon because it is smaller and not too intimidating!

I dont have any input on Philly half, but in terms of timing between the two races i think you are more than fine!
I ran two halfs last year 4 weeks apart and it was great. You can give yourself a few weeks off after the first race and then run a big run (10 miles-ish) the week before and you should be good!!
