Have you ever done something P/T to build up your savings?
If so, what?
Especially if you already work F/T and have a child?
TIA!

Re: Have you ever done something P/T to build up your savings?
I see 5 clients in private practice. I have my LMSW and just need to sit for the LCSW exam. So, for now, I work as a sub-contractor for my supervisor. She gives me clients and office space, she bills under her license and I get a small fee per client. It's not a ton of money, but it helps put some away into savings.

By trade I'm a computer teacher but I am very much into graphics.
I have some non-students that get referred to me just because I can put together fliers, tickets, brochures, invitations, etc. and in short they pay me.
I don't do it during my normal job time and it helps to either stick it in the savings account or just to have a bit of pocket money.

I have taught for Kaplan for years.
It's pretty sporadic so it's perfect for just saving; you can't depend on the income as a part time teacher.
I haven't taught much lately because I've been needing something more regular but there are a few posters on here who work for them full time.
If you're interested in more info FM me.

I work for Kaplan full time as does JenniferEver (I do grad tests, she works with the SAT), feel free to FM us for more info). I actually got Jenn to come back to us a few years ago after she left for a while thanks to a post on here

Yeah, I was wondering that too.
I don't know how well I "test" personally.
I've been putting off my LMSW exam for YEARS now because of my fear of testing.
