Annoying personality types at work
What are your faves and how do you deal?
They recently hired someone at my job. They are YOUNG so I think that's why they act this way, but lately, everyone is noticing that they act like a know-it-all and think they are a supervisor, delegating orders out to everyone (most of what they end up telling everyone is WRONG too).
It's nice to know I'm not the only one at least that has to put up with this.
I had TWO people call me randomly to discuss this person though today.

Re: Annoying personality types at work
My favorites.....
The Whiner Who Has No Time:
This person will whine like a child about how he or she has no time to do anything, complains that too much is expected of them, how they are responsible for too much, are spread too thin, are under-appreciated, etc. This person generally makes a large salary and spends more time *****!ng than actually getting work done.
The "Funny" Sexual Harasser:
.....This creeper is likeable and popular around the office, so it's hard to want to run to HR without it making YOU look bad.
The Hot-Tempered Toddler with the Tantrums:
You have no idea how this fool still has a job; he or she can't act professional when things don't go their way or things go wrong.
The Suck-Up:
.....This putz makes you want to vomit. You hate this person with such a passion, and so does everyone else.
and how do I deal?
Well....that's a secret. Let's say a lot of it is like Survivor Island and you need an ally or two... FM me if you want the REAL answer.

Re: Annoying personality types at work
I've got a Whiner Who Has No Time here in the office. She's actually holding up my work today by sitting on paperwork that I need, and I am just in the right mood to let her boss know about it. How do I deal - I usually ignore her.
I've got a new manager who knows NOTHING about my business (chemical fertilizers) and who knows NOTHING about being a manager. Guess who gets to teach him ? How do I deal - I selectively teach (not giving up all my secrets) and when he was appointed, told the higher ups that I was not happy with the situation because of his lack of experience, and I also hinted towards discrimination. I now report directly to the higher up instead of this manager.

Re: Annoying personality types at work
The Whistler. Literally, all day, whistling.
The one who is soooooo overwhelmed and has sooooooooo much more to do than everyone else, but yet, still finds time to spend hours on Facebook, checking e-mails, shopping onlilne. I don't even have time to log onto LIF any more while I'm at work.
The Martyr. The one who carries all of the weight of the office (and the world) on her back even though she has no reason to. And tells you about it all damn day.
The one-upper. If you do something, she did it first, did it better, more efficiently, invented it, etc.
Boy, this felt good after a long day. . .

Re: Annoying personality types at work
UGH! I have a few---
The sneaky manipulator... convinces the supervisors to let him do whatever he wants & he ends up getting whatever he wants at everyone else's expense
The attention wh*re... this chick swings her hips as she walks around & thinks she's the best at what she does, constantly complimenting herself & saying how efficient she is, likes to boss other people around.
The whiners.... there are several--constantly complaining, like their job is so horrible! They have no idea how good they have it!
The airhead... acts like she's completely helpless & has no idea how to do anything (yes, it's an act) so everyone will do her work for her & she never gets any tough assignments

Re: Annoying personality types at work
The one who cries poor me:
Comes in late everyday, leaves early for lunch everyday, can't keep up with her work, can't multi-task, basically can't run her desk, but at the end of the day it's, "I have so much going on at home", well excuse me let me not do my job and come in late everyday, and mess up my work at least once a week because I am 35 weeks pregnant. This one irks me the most because she takes up precious salary that can be spread amongst those who can actually do their job as well as hers.
The quiet one aka I am better than you:
She sits at her desk, doesn't talk, doesn't really engage with anyone, but forms opinions about everyone without really knowing anyone. Maybe if you had a conversation with these people you put lables on you would see how nice they really are.
How i deal?
I put on a smile, come in everyday, do my job, and go home. I have learned not to speak about life issues at work, and not to get involved in the gossip, these people feed off of it like vultures!
