so annoying - work and food related
i HATE when people bring food in (cake, cookies, etc.) for a birthday or holiday or whatever and feel the need to try and FORCE you to eat some!
i am trying to be good, and those are such empty calories for me - it's nothing i love, nothing i even like a whole lot, and i don't want to eat it for the sake of eating it.
and no matter how many times i say "no thank you" or "thanks but i am trying to be good" some people feel like it's their job to get you to eat it!

If someone is insistant, I would turn around and say, "no thanks, if I eat that I will look like you". I am sure they would buzz off after that

Since I'm diabetic, if someone is really annoying, I go for the extreme: "Sorry, I'm diabetic, so if I eat that, I'll pass out and die...."
Of course, I won't, but they don't know that... 
I love their reactions to that statement.... there's no "out" for them at that point....

That reminds me of the seinfeld episode with elaine's office. She gave up the birthday cakes and then needed her 3 o'clock sugar rush.

I can't eat food from some people I look at how gross their desk is and wonder what their house is like. If they inist I take whatever it is back to my desk, wrap it up in paper and throw it out. Or I tell them I had some already.

The worst is when they're like "but you're so skinny". Um, yes I am and that's because I don't eat cake. If I did I'd be 50 lbs heavier.

I would say this too if someone would just not leave me alone (so rude!) or just say 'thanks' grab a plate and toss it out

yes! i hate that too. i am not even skinny but i am smaller than most of the women here and they think that because of that i should be able to eat whatever i want.
