Im glad I went for the ultrasound yesterday.
My Dr. (1st appt I had yesterday) just called to tell me that my BETA numbers were good like 2400...she was going to request a sono but I already told her I had one and they found nothing. So imagine if I didnt go to the ER yesterday and just waited for these labs I would have had my hopes high since my numbers were high to only find out that I had miscarried anyway.

Ditto...
i am curious why the dr thinks a 2400ish beta at over 7 weeks is good...
ETA: what did your Dr say when you told her that you went to the ER?

Oh, 2400 isnt good? She told me it should be 2500 or over at this point. Wow, Im disliking this Dr. more and more. She didnt say much when I told her I went to the ER. she just said ok, I was going to request the ultrasound next. Well yea, but with my hopes still high since my numbers were high. I am thankful for all the girls here who encouraged me to go to the ER. I am truly thankful..

She wasnt really my first choice. Since DH lost his job I had to go on Medicaid and my Medicaid MVP plan wasnt effective yet so I had to go to any Dr who accepted just straight up medicaid. I couldnt go to my regular gyn until july went the MVP plan was effective If I could go back in time I would have just went straight to the ER

i am so sorry for your loss and that you have to deal with your dr who doesn't seem like she's being that helpful is she going to keep testing your beta to be sure that it drops to zero?
lots of hugs to you

ITA! I would look into switching doctors! Same here! Your situation makes me crazy! I CAN NOT believe she called you to say that your #s were great! I had this funny feeling yesterday when you were having all the issues that your dr was VERY wrong for not doing a sono. I still dont get what her loss would have been to just do a sono. Please switch, really.

Re: Im glad I went for the ultrasound yesterday.
What area are you from? Maybe someone on here can recommend a great practice. The drs that I went to when I had dd#1 were great, the ones I went to when I had the miscarriage sucked so bad during the rough times that I switched DURING the miscarriage. I couldnt handle the BS anymore. Can you find someone to follow through with this? I mean if they are so opposed to doing the sono for the baby whats to stop them from making sure your numbers are at 0? Some drs let you just go on your way. IMO thats wrong but Ive heard it. I wonder if the reason for the lack of sonos was due to your insurance? The hospital has to do a sono regardless of what insurance you have. So ethically wrong if so...
