It's amazing... (running related)
I lurk on this board all the time, but I never post (don't know why.) I'm a treadmill runner more than anything else, generally five days a week, but I went out today for a run since I (for some unknown reason) signed up for a 5K next week. I figured I should get in at least one more outside run before attempting to do this and make a fool of myself.
Time aside (which I wasn't 100% happy with), I have to say that I got a sense of what it means to be part of a community just by being out there. Every other runner I passed smiled, waved and said good morning. It was such a "we're all in this together" feeling (which was much appreciated whenever I started to get out of breath.  ) I had to post this here because I couldn't think of anyone else who would really understand. I might become an outside running convert...

That's wonderful and exactly how I feel! I used to be a treadmill user and after running outside for the last 2 months, its going to be hard going back to it!

This is exactly how I felt when I started running in the fall. I'm afraid of the treadmill, so it's only outdoors for me. The running community is awesome.

I love running outside bc of that!
I've been running inside lately bc of the rain, and now bc of allergies- and I miss being outside!

with the exception of lining up for races...the running community is so great and friendly!
