Jess, if you can do a 3 mile walk why not trying running a little (as long as you have no medical reasons why you can't)? Not necessarily 3 miles- but do a walk/run interval. Walk for 2 minutes, then run as fast as you can for a minute, then walk for 3 minutes, etc. Even if you only do it for a mile or a mile and half- I bet it burns more fat than your 3 mile walk!
When I took up running I lost weight like crazy without even trying!
