WW Support *Update* 6/20

I'm needing some support. I weighed in on Monday with 0 pounds lost. I had a good week last week, stayed within my points, earned activity points, and no loss. I've mentioned before that I weigh myself everyday. for 2 days I've been up 1 pound.
As much as I know I need to still keep at it, I'm really feeling discouraged. I know there are good weeks and bad weeks but I'm seriously bummed that I didnt lose anything. Ive been on/off weight loss journey for the better part of 11 years. It's very frustrating.

Update on 6/13
I didnt lose/gain anything AGAIN. I changed my workout routine and added Tae Bo and added another mile to my walk.

Update 6/20
I'm happy to report I lost 1.6 pounds!
Thanks for all your support!

Chat Icon It's hard when the scale doesn't reflect the effort you put in to weight loss. Chat Icon

Try to focus on the positive, you were active this week! That's awesome. Even though you may not see it on the scale, you've done good things for your body, for your heart and for your muscles...and that is just as important as a number on a scale.

If you are working the program, the numbers will catch up. Stick with it! Chat Icon

Re: WW Support

I've had a couple of weeks where I've worked out really hard (I never use my activity points and almost never use my weekly points) and I've seen very little loss. Then the following week I've had a 2-3lb loss. I think sometimes your body needs to catch up a little. I also have low weeks 7-10 days before getting AF. I'm due to get her this week and I'm only down a couple of ozs.

Just keep doing it and even if you have an off week you just have to keep going. Eventually your body will catch up and you see the loss.

I also had a couple of low weeks and I really looked at what I was eating. I was staying within my points but I was still eating a lot of carbs. I was also eating very little during the day and then having a pretty big dinner. I started switching things up and started seeing better losses.

The only thing I could say is don't give up!

I have lost, but then have been re-gaining and re-losing, the SAME 4 pounds in the past 2 months. It is frustrating but I tell myself at least I am maintaining.

You didn't gain weight right? so staying at zero for now is a good thing. Don't give up. Workout harder, eliminate one more snack... and hopefully results will show.

Re: WW Support

You culd also try taking your points adding them up for the week and doing high and low points days. There is a website that walks you through this but I can't remember the name

I've heard this too. Jillian Michaels recommends switching your diet up throughout the week to "trick" your body. I'm not sure the specifics but she says 3 days of eating really good, 2 days of eating moderately, 2 days of splurging a little...something like that.

Re: WW Support

i know its frustrating when you've done everything right and you see no loss or even have a gain! i had that problem for the month of May Chat Icon

i think if its only this week then maybe you will see the difference in next week's weigh in. If you still stay the same then maybe you've hit a plateau and need to change things up?

this week i finally went back to the basics with WW...i reviewed a week when i had a big loss and decided to do it exactly the same and guess what? i lost already!

Re: WW Support

My goal for this week is just to try my best. I increased my walking distance to around 3.6 miles at night.
I don't think I'm retaining water as i'm drinking around 150 ounces a day.
I got on the scale this morning and my weight was the exact same thing it's been since tuesday. Its so frustrating. At my weight, my 3.6 mile walk at the pace I'm going at earns me 6 AP's at a time.
Planning to walk another 3.5 miles tonight. Gotta keep moving.

If I dont have a change then I have to try doing something different.

Re: WW Support

I know it's discouraging, but please remember that the weightloss is cumulative. Try to look at it from a monthly as opposed to weekly stand. Also, don't weigh yourself everyday. At least not while you are losing. The weight goes up and down so quickly due to hormones, food, etc., so you really are just playing a mental game with yourself.

Just continue changing the bad habits into good ones and live a healthy lifestyle/make healthy choices. Then, I promise you, the weight will come off.

Jessica -- sorry you didn't lose any weight again. Maybe you can switch up your foods, switch up your days.

I don't know how you drink that much water. I struggle every day to get through 6-8 glasses.

Hopefully if you keep at it your body will eventually catch up and you'll start seeing losses again

Re: WW Support *Update*

I drink the 16.9 ounce bottles at work and keep refilling them. Before I know it I've done 6 at work. Then I do a few more at home. I just keep on drinking and peeing. lol

I'm hoping to get a big loss this week. I'm going to try my very hardest to make it happen.

Can you post what you are eating throughout the day? That might help us to figure out some things! Chat Icon

You do it online, right? Have you considered a meeting? You could sit down with a leader and try to pinpoint what might be going on.

Re: WW Support *Update*

Have you tried measuring inches lost. You mentioned in your post that you have earned activity points. Is it possible that you have lost inches? This happened to me. 2 weeks in a row I didn't lose weght, but knew that my clothes fit me better. I decided to messure myself and found that I did in fact lose in inches.

It might help to swap the butter with some peanut butter (more protein and less fat) and to also swap the mayo for mustard or something with less calories and fat. Condiments can really make a difference. Also, less milk and more water.

ETA: Also, instead of red meat, try lean chicken and/or turkey.

Re: WW Support *Update*

oh no Jessica. dont give up.
did you ever give simply filling a try? maybe you could try that for a week and see how you do.
also you drink whole milk? can you try 1% ? whole milk can be a source of unwanted calories and fat
eat your fruit 20 mins before your meal

I don't eat red meat everyday, usually 1 day a week and the other days we have chicken.
As for water, I already drink around 120 to 150 ounces of water a day which far exceeds the recommended 6 to 8 glass per day.

Re: WW Support *Update*

You have your healthy oils (yay!), I would try to get in another serving of milk.
Maybe every other day swap out the Special K bar for a protein and a fruit along with it. (Don't eliminate the SPecial k bar every day though- you want a treat once in awhile Chat Icon )
I would definately try to add more protein in?
You're eating all your points which is great! Do you eat your activity points? Maybe try and eat a little more and use those activity points every other day?
Sometimes its just a matter of tweaking the times you eat, combos of food, amount in one sitting etc.

The scale might just be a natural standstill for awhile. I have a theory that your body needs to "catch up". You might not see all your changes in the week or two immediatly following. I agree that how your clothes fit, how you look, and how you FEEL all play big roles!

If you continue at a plateau for more than a month I would consult a doctor to rule out any underlying medical issues.

I'm going to respond to your FM tonight, but in the meantime, remember one thing......you wrote to me that you've lost 20 pounds since March 7. That's 20 pounds in 14 weeks. I did the math and that averages to 1.4 pounds per week....so if you ask me, your weight loss is EXACTLY where it should be Chat Icon

I measured and I've lost a inch or two in few areas.
I'm going to try to chage my snack to a protien.
I am proud of my weight loss, I just want to continue to lose so that I don't get discouraged.

Re: WW Support *Update*

I know how frustrating it can get. You feel like you are busting your arse and for what? But you know what, even if you don't lose this week or next week, you are eating healthier. You are making better choices for your body. And eventually that is going to catch up to you for your weight loss.

I have lost over 80 pounds and still have about 12 to go. In that time I have had many periods of frustrations. Many times where I felt like the scale wasn't budging no matter how hard I tried. How much have you lost in total? It definitely sounds like you need to shake something up. How are you with workouts? Try to remember that it didn't all come on in one day and it's not all going to come off in one day, one week or one month. This is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time to get to the end of your weight loss journey but you will get there.

My total loss has been 20. I keep telling myself I have to do this and I make myself visit this board EVERYDAY to see that other people are losing so I can too.

It's definitely frustrating and at times I do want to give up.

I changed my breakfast this morning. I had an Stop and shop light english muffin with 1 TBSP skippy peanut butter and 1 TBSP grape
Jam.

I definitely have to kick up my exercise. I don't think I'm doing enough. We walk 3 miles a day (doing about a 17 minute mile)
