Finallly got an actual appt with a developmental ped for DS, but...

it's not until Oct. I've been on a waiting list since mid-April, this was a waiting list to be put on the cancellation list. I called last week and left a message since it had been two months and I hadn't heard anything so just wanted to see if I had moved up at all. I was told in a call-back that I still had to "put in more time" on the wait list. That had me but whatever.

Well the phone just rang and a different person responding to my same message said she had a spot for me open up but not until December! I pleaded and said DS was going to age out of EI in February and I needed/wanted to know what I was dealing with (diagnosis wise as we have none) at least a few months before then if possible. She "found" another appt in October!!! So I took it. I still can't believe it's at least a 6 month total wait time but it is what is I guess. They actually take my insurance which is why I really have no choice but to wait as we cannot afford the eval fees out of pocket.

I'm so nervous for this appt.....nervous about what they'll say about DS but we need to know either way what we're dealing with if anything. Anyway, just wanted to share my relief in at least getting him on the calendar.
