RIP Simon
This morning, he was walking as if he was drunk. He couldn't jump onto the couch and he was not himself. I took him to the vet and found out his kidneys were failing. They were going to give him treatment but then said that he might not survive the night and if he did, he would need continued treatments. I made the decision to euthanize him. My husband left work, met me and we said goodbye together. He was 10 years old. (We adopted him 10 years ago yesterday!) He was such a good boy--he was the only cat that would let me hold him like a baby and enjoy it (not just tolerate). I feel very guilty because I swear this was out of nowhere. The vet tech said he was probably suffering for a while and I didn't know it. I feel terrible because we didn't take him to the vet because he never gave us reason to. Maybe he could have been saved if I did.

You did everything for him that you could have as soon as you realized there was a problem. It sounds like he was lucky to have you and you to have him. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so true what everyone has been saying. Cats don't let on how sick they are. Especially with the kidneys, things can come up so fast. :(

 I am so sorry to hear this!! I can only imagine what you are going through because I have cats too and they are like my children.
I know there's really nothing I can say, it just sounds like he had such a loving home because of you and your dh
