Question about Salary
I am a spec. ed teacher who does not have a job. I got called to interview for a 1:1 aide position. Does anyone know what an average salary is for an aide?

It isn't very high at all....maybe 20-$25,000. I could be wrong. I thiknk you get benefits though.
I have been teaching 11 years and I don't have a job for september either...I got excessed last year....

1:1 aides in one of the districts I work in get paid around 20k (maybe a little less).

In my SD 1:1 get paid $15.70 and hour for 6 hours a day. Teacher Assistant get paid $15.40 and hour, 6 hours a day.

Ours get paid by the hour. If we have days off. They do not get paid.

I know in NYC you get benefits, pension etc. not sure of the pay scale but I but you could find it through google or uft.org.

I was a 1:1 aide in Cold Spring Harbor and I made a whopping $12,500

You can go to the district's wesite and look through some board minutes for 1:1 appointments to get an idea.
