my almost 6 month old puppy sleeps alot

We got a puppy as a gift. The people bought her from a puppy store- please no lectures as she was a gift. SHe is a sweet little girl and my kids love her. My question are:

1. She sleeps ALOT. Is this normal?
She does play but not alot.

2. SHe is not a big eater. She does not eat 2 meals a day. Is this ok.

I am so worried that something is wrong with her. The people who got us the dog are friends with the store owners. I wish they went to a breeder but she is here to stay.

When I mentioned that she sleeps alot to the vet he did not seem concerned.

She's a puppy, so I wouldn't be concerned about her sleeping a lot. She's just a baby! My dog isn't a big eater, either. He's 4 now and I still have to TELL him to sit down and eat (yes, like a child). I used to worry about him, too, but that's just the way he is. Just make sure your puppy always has access to fresh food and water.

it's also summer and hot. I feel like Maggie slept all last summer.
