kindle and public library
I knowthat in the spring Kindle had said we could get books from the public library starting sometime this year but I've heard nothing since...
Has anyone heard when it is going to be happening?

Kindle e-books are now available at both Nassau and Suffolk libraries. Find the link on your home library's website.

I tried looking on their website but couldn't find anything about the kindle.

they do. just go to the digital media part of the catalog and search for the book you want. if they have it there will be an option for kindle download. for instance i just searched for the title "61 hours" and could see it's available for kindle.

So, is the book only available on you Kindle for a few weeks?
I was thinking of getting my mom a Kindle, but not if she always has to pay for the downloads/
