Re: business settings vs. social settings
I would have said to her if us being childfree is a problem with you and your bank, we will gladly take our business elsewhere.
It just beyond rude for this woman to say something like that...what if you couldn't have children. Would she still look at you the same way.

Things like this astound me! I can't believe she actually stared you down instead of apologizing or at least acting uncomfortable since she clearly crossed a whole load of boundaries.
I probably would said it's none of your business.

I'm never quick enough to react the way I would like to in these situations.

I find the stare down the best course of action, along with a slow eyebrow raise.

I've never really encoutered this - when I tell them no kids yet they usually say I'm a smart lady

Re: business settings vs. social settings
You know, the newlywed comment is so out of line. I always think of couples who CANT have children. Dumbazzes always assume its because you dont want them that you dont have them.
As i get older and have been married for longer, if some type of scenario comes up like this i'm getting much nastier in my responses, like no we hate kids or ew dont wish that misery on us etc..
