If you and SO work FT, where do your kids go after school?
DS is only 2 so I have a long time before I really need to worry about this, but I'm curious...
In my district, K -12 is from 8:20am though 3:20pm. I work FT until 5:00pm every day. When DS starts Kindergarten, where is he supposed to go after school is over? Are there after school programs or daycare or something? I tried looking it up but the school district doesnt have any info on their website about after school.

Most schools public and private run after care which you pay out of pocket.
Some districts will bus to some daycare centers for the early elementary years.
And, some in-home daycare providers also have kids for after care. I assume they live near a bus stop and pick up the kids off of the bus.

I'm not on LI, I'm in rockland county, so unfortunately we dont have SCOPE. I'll have to do a search because I would assume we have to have something similar here.

DD gets home 15 min before I get home. She takes the bus to grandma's. We do on Fri AM's have an issue and the school has a scope program that Barb gave the link to.

My DS was bused from school to after school care (Daycare facility) which I had to pay for. I did claim it on my taxes

Our district has an after school program which we pay extra for. We send him 3 days a week and pay $170 a month.

my 6 yo is currently being picked up by my inlaws until he starts afterschool program at his school in October. He's only going there 3 days a week, the other 2 days my inlaws will pick him up.
My 4 yo is at a Preschool/Daycare across the street from DH's office. I leave the office around 5:45pm and pick up DH/DS at the daycare

My ds goes to after-care at his elementary school.
Same here. I believe it is 60 dollars a week. It is open until 6, which THANK goodness DH is home at 4 and can pick her up. I would never make it home before 6 on a consistent basis.
