Kindle Fire
What do you guys think? I hava a first generation kindle. I am thinking about updating so I can take out library books. I'm also looking at the kindle touchscreen.....
The fire looks great but I like the pages not being backlit. I already have a droid phone, not sure if i need the fire because my phone does all that stuff. But it looks like fun.

I really want to preorder it..It looks amazing! I have the 1st generation and I love it. I didnt realize you can rent from the library with the fire..now I really want to preorder

it does look really cool... there are a ton of new kindles come out... i probably would go with the eink touch tho rather than the Fire...

I was watching the news the other day when they debuted the Fire and other new versions. I'm not a tech person at all but they interviewed someone who was and said that the Fire will actually really rival the iPad. They said that up until now, other manufacturer's have made iPad rivals but price them the same as the iPad so it's not really a great deal. According to the guy on the news, the Fire is going to cost 1/2 of what the iPad does and do all the same things. I have a newer Kindle but I'm def considering the Fire b/c I wanted an iPad but couldn't justify spending that much $$ on it.

My current kindle (no clue what version it is - I got it this past Christmas) has 3G for free. I would assume these may too

The kindle touch is $99, the kindle touch 3g is $149.
The fire doesn't have 3g at all.

I also have a first gen kindle and want the fire. I might not get it right away, i'll probably wait a little for the next version but I love the library feature.

I already placed an order for the new kindle. Its actually an early x-mas gift for DH. Whats impressive, it will run with an android system and my DH loves his android. He will be surprise I actually thought about getting this versus and Ipad.
