Runners who are trying to lose weight!
Do you ever plateau?? Running is really working for me. I'm 4 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight!!! I haven't plateaued at all. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but I'm seeing consistent weight loss (I'm losing about 1-2 lbs per week). I just want to know if this will continue? I really hope it does. I've never seen results so consistently! Knocking on wood!!!

Re: Runners who are trying to lose weight!
I have been losing weight consistently since I gave birth in Feb. I am under my prepregnancy weight and am still continuing to lose. My biggest dilemma is maintaining sufficient caloric intake to supply my body for the consistent increase in mileage WHILE maintaining a deficit to lose. It's tough because I have a voracious appetite. I just have to make sure that i make smart choices so they nourish, fill, satisfy me. Not easy! Needless to say I am still losing weight but it has slowed down a bit. That is ok, because I am more concerned about my body composition as opposed to that stupid number on the scale (which no matter how much we to say that it doesn't matter and we shouldn't care...we all know it does in our mind ) My numbers have slowed down too because of the weight training on top of running like madwoman. We all know that muscle weighs more...but try telling my brain that lol. I would say to you just be vigilant of your caloric intake and try to get more bang for your buck when making food choices because I am sure that you are hungry like me

I started with running to lose my pregnancy weight then I started Insanity. I am 10lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight now. I highly recommend the Insanity program. Its hard but it makes you so much stronger and leaner.

Re: Runners who are trying to lose weight!
I plateaued when I reached my goal weight, which was the weight I have been most of my life. It is my ideal weight I think. I have no lost any weight since then (January) and actually am a pound or 2 heavier now... but have dropped another pants size.

Re: Runners who are trying to lose weight!
Similar to julz' post I would say that while my weight appears to be the same, i would say i am still getting toned. i just bought a couple pairs of jeans 1.5 months ago that fit perfectly and now they are too big. i weighed myself this morning and i am the same weight i was 3-4 weeks ago. however, my waist is trimmer/slimmer if that makes any sense, abs are more defined.
i am not lifting weights on a consistent basis (i try) but my running has stayed pretty consistent (3-4 times a week, with 3-4 mile runs, occasionally throwing in a 5-6 mile run on the weekends).
