Some companies that are currently hiring
Since there are so many who are unemployed I thought it may be helpful to start a thread listing companies that we know are hiring.
Obviously, it is up to the individual to contact them directly but at least it s a start.

My company is hiring right now.
Some entry level positions like schedulers/staffing coordinators, but also RNs and social workers.
Of course they are always hiring aides.

Gymboree is looking for extra staff for the holidays. I just saw an ad in their stores.
Also, I think Macy's is ALWAYS looking for people around holidays season. I know my sister worked there a few years ago around the holidays and she had NO retail experience what so ever! She was in nursing school.

I go to Panera Bread all the time before work in the am.
The one in West Babylon always has a sign in the window that they are hiring.
A lot of the people who work there have been there for awhile so it doesn't seem like it would be that miserable of a place to work.

I was looking the other day for a friend. Any of the seasonal carriers should be hiring now--IE UPS, Fed Ex.
Jet Blue also had a few spots open.
My uncle's company is ALWAYS hiring--some of your DH's might be looking for jobs in snow removal? My uncle's company plows most of the local airports (JFK, LGA, NEWARK)
They also have a receptionist and a data entry job open...they're in Port Washington. If anyone needs help with them, FM me.
