getting boys ear pierced??

My son age 10 is asking to get his ears pierced. While I personally have no issue with it, times have changed a bit and I feel a bit out of touch, So which ear should he get done, or does it not matter anymore?

My 15 year old nephew has both ears pierced... I'm not sure it really matters. I'm sure he probably knows the 'right' ear for fashion.. otherwise you can ask at the place where you get it done.
