which kindle?
Now I dont understand the big difference, I mena I get the wifi vs 3g.
Does anyone think you HAVE to have the 3g?

For an e-reader, no. If you plan to actually use the internet on it then maybe but you have to pay the monthly service fee I think. I have a 1st generation Nook and the only time I have used WiFi is to download books which I do at home.

You don't HAVE to have it. I had it because the 1st and 2nd generation kindle came with it automatically. I commuted to work on the LIRR so it was very nice when I was done with a book to be able to log on to amazon and get another one.
Now it isn't such a big deal because I only read at home and can use my wifi.
