If your dog sleeps on your bed...

What do you do about comforters? Yogi sleeps with me at night sometimes. Most of the night he is at the foot of the bed, but sometimes he likes to crawl up next to me. And, during the day he lays on my bed while I'm at work. His hair gets everywhere and it drives me insane. What do you keep on your bed? Do you sleep with a comforter? Or, do you take the comforter off and sleep with a different blanketso the comforter doesn't get ruined?

I sleep with a comforter. My dogs are usually pretty good about laying at the bottom of the bed so it's not as much of an issue, but we just rotate comforters once a week, where as I don't change the sheets for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. This is possibly why I spend half of my life at the laundromat.

This was the reason we stopped letting the dogs sleep with us. Our pomeranian would LOVE to plop himself on our pillows and Dh was always picking dog hairs our of his beard

My past dog shed like crazy, so I put a quilt on top of my comforter when I was not home and usually I had him sleep on top of the quilt at the edge of the bed.

I would use different blankets. My guys don't shed but if they did I couldn't handle all of that fur all over blankets that I put right on my face.

I put a top sheet on top of the comforter so the hair does not get on it.

My dogs dont shed but we have a bedspread and a comforter. I keep the comforter on top in case my dog gets sick or something...I can pull it right off. So i only allow him to sleep on top of that, never the bedspread.

DH & I are sleep only w/a fitted sheet and a comforter, year round. Our dog used to sleep where ever she pleased on our bed. Sometimes @ the foot, sometimes in between DH's legs, sometimes in between us w/her head on our pillows. Eventually, she decided she wanted to be under the cover w/us. DH & I put a stop to it at that point. We were constantly covered in her hair. It was an adjustment period teaching her not to jump on the bed but, she eventually got it.

We have a dog throw that goes on the bed each night. Our dog doesn't shed, but she has natural oils on her skin that can rub off on our comforter.

I literally just gave up!! I sleep with a comforter and our dogs lay right on top. I wash it tho every week. Washing it tends to get the hair off.

We are lucky that our dog barely sheds! So it really isn't much of an issue!

She sleeps on top of the comforter---and that honestly only gets washed about once a month since I have to bring it to the laundrimat to wash it! It works out fine for us though since she isn't a shedder!

Just a lot of washing. We have a California king bed, and one dog sleeps under the covers the other dog sleeps above.
