Talk to me about ingrown toenail removal!
Does it hurt? Where do the put the needle in? Do they numb you a little before giving you the needle? Do you feel anything? How was recovery? How long will i have to stay away from the gym? And most importantly, will I EVER be able to get a pedicure again and can DH stay in the room during the procedure? I need to have 2 removed and i'm thinking of doing it Christmas week while i'm off! I'm sooooooooo scared. TIA!!!!!!
ETA: Can someone recommend a good Podiatrist in Suffolk county! I'll even travel to Nassau for someone who is good with people who have a fear of needles! Thanks!!!!!

Dr. Ross Hartman in Hicksville is awesome. His number is 516-822-FEET. He is so good - not an alarmist and really super with people who have a fear of needles. I have to lay down just to get a blood test - and he was extremely patient with me. FM me if you need anymore info!

Re: Talk to me about ingrown toenail removal!
Dr.Burke at Cherrywood Foot Care is great!!!!! Even with all my infertility needles, I was terrified of the anesthetic needle he used beforehand!! He called a nurse in and she talked to me about her puppy to distract me while he did it. I felt like a little kid but it was comforting He also won "best of LI" for podiatry
He's located in Bellmore, but worth the trip. I'm a big baby but it was fine. They put a drape in front of me so I couldn't see what was going on. It looked like my foot was getting a csection It hurt that night but was really fine the next day. I had to keep it covered and put stuff on it and maybe soak it at least once a day for like 10 days or two weeks.... I had a pedicure again within a few weeks and it looks totally normal. They will def let you dh stay, it wasn't a big deal.
Here is the website Cherrywood Footcare

Luckysmom- you have FM, and PS eventually you can get a pedicure again- it will take some time for the new nail to grow in, it depends on if it is the borders, or the whole nail and the needle usually goes in the flesh part of the toe. You will be advised to not get a pedicure until the new nail is in and it is healed. Hope this helps.

I get intramuscular injections nine times a week... and even *I* was afraid!! It really wasn't bad at all though and it takes like 5 mins!!
