Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
We give them gift cards to Target or whatever. Last year when it was just my DD in the school I gave them $10 each. Not sure how much this year since they are both in school now.

Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
I am a PE teacher and get a lot of gift cards, which are awesome. Honestly, just to be thought of is so nice. I love all the hand drawn cards and pictures etc :)
I saw an adorable little glass light up statue last year which I had to get for each special. (Which I normally wouldnt get but they were awesome from Kohls) Then for others we wrapped pastries LOL and gave them a gift card to starbucks. Like the bus driver, custodians, office staff etc.
Oh I just wanted to add, Dont feel like you need to get gifts for everyone. Id say I get a gift from maybe 10 children a year and teach about 500. Its really not the norm to purchase for us. A card or letter would be awesome.

Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
I'm wondering this as well. I already spent $200, between both kids, on just main teachers and assistants.

Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
I was thinking of buying a little box of chocolates or hot cocoa (the small gift type stuff you can get at Target), something around $5-$7 each, to give each specials teacher along with a card. My DS is in kindergarten. Would this be appropriate? I do gift cards to Target for the main teacher and assistant.

Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
It gets very expensive to be honest and it isn't really in our budget. What we do do is give each special teacher a card and a little wrapped up package of hershey kisses, hershey miniatures, dove miniatures, something like that wrapped with pretty tissue paper and ribbon. I want them to know that we are appreciative of them and are thinking of them, but there are so many people to buy for! I hope we are doing is OK...I do know from my 8 years as a teacher that sometiems it is just nice to know that you are being thought of!

Re: Holidays gifts for the teachers who teach specials
Last year I got them all scarves and gloves and this year I got them all various types of $15 gift cards attached to boxes of chocolate. It's not a lot, but I feel like they really deserve it.
