OK...so now Im looking for attorney recommendations...
the agencies just dont have a good reputation at all....lots of bad experiences and it seems the laws in NY really dont favor agencies.

I've been looking into Forever Families in Rye NY. They seem to have a good rep. What I like about them is that they are an agency but co-founded by an attorney and a social worker who are married and adopted all 3 of their kids. You can go with the attorney or with the agency. Either way you will need an attorney to finalize. I think agencies have a shorter overall waiting period than private attorneys in NY.

I know I'm pursuing something different, but I was able to get recs for surrogacy agencies through Dr.B. I know you went to him for your last cycle... I bet he would have some sort of recommendation for this too! Or at very least, I bet he would have a connection for someone who could help you out.

Dr. B actually recommended an attorney who does not specialize in adoption. In fact they admitted they don't really do that.
I opted not to consult with them but Dr. B is a wonderful doc and person and really likes this attorney so I appreciated the help.
Also I wanted to clarify about the waiting period comment I made. With agencies in NY the birth mom has 30 days to change her mind but with a private attorney she has 45 days.
