Waking up at 5 am
Does anyone wake up at 5 or 530 am to work out in their home using videos? I am a single mom so running outside is not an option, and I don't have a treadmill at home. I was doing great for so long with staying in shape with jogging/walking and circuit training videos at home. But, work has gotten busier and as my kids get older homework has gotten more demanding and bedtime is a little later, so it's 9 pm by the time I'm able to workout. I feel like going to sleep shortly after that and wish that I could easily get out of bed at 5 or so and do a video. However, I love sleeping until 630!!
I need some motivation for this, big time!

Not sure if you saw my video, I hope it inspires you http://youtu.be/jUu9Af3brNo
Here are a few more to get you motivated also http://youtu.be/Ja9BFx5Mhqo http://youtu.be/8SbXgQqbOoU
Just find your motivation! Write it in a planner as an appointment. You would not miss a scheduled appointment for work. Treat it the same way. After about a month, it will become a habit, and your body will get use to it.
As for the running, I know it's cold and dark in the morning and when you get home. If you have a set of stairs, try those. Just make sure your steps are in good condition. I have a friend do it to train for the LI Half.
Of course you can bundle up in layers. The fresh air will do you good.
Also write down your goals and post them up where you can see everyday. I have 3:50 posted on my mirror for the NYC Marathon this year!
My wife and I also do P90X2 this morning. We usually do it at night, but I was so beat!
Also please join me at our Free Fit Club at the Commack Middle School at 7pm on Tuesdays. http://www.runwithnoah.com/2011/11/join-fit-club-of-long-island.html

Wow! Great suggestions. I love how you suggested to make it an appointment in the planner. Look at all of your success....truly inspirational..congrats!!
To the OP, try doing an early morning DVD every other day. This way sleeping in becomes more of a treat and less of a habit. Also get to bed early on the nights before a workout. I get to the gym @5:45 four days a week. The other 3 days are my sleep-in, treat days. I look forward to them but I look at it as those other days of getting up early earn me those days of extra

Re: Waking up at 5 am
I get up at 5 Monday through Thursday and am on the treadmill by 5:20 (I have to be at work by 7:30.) To me, it is TOTALLY worth it because I am tired either way in the afternoon, so an extra hour of sleep will have no bearing on how I feel in the afternoon/evening and getting up early means at least I won't have to exercise after work when I'm tired regardless.
(It also makes me LOVE Fridays because I sleep until 6, and there is no better time in my week than after my run on Thursday morning. )
It's hard, but I also have more energy for the day, and I'd feel guilty anyway if I knew I could've gotten up and just didn't. (My mother did a number on me when I was little with her guilt trips. It still works. )

Re: Waking up at 5 am
I am able to workout in the afternoon, but I have a co-worker who has 4 young children and a DH who rarely helps out. She wakes up at 4:45 every other day and goes. I feel like if she can do, anyone can do it.

Thanks I guess this is my only option but I need more motivation since videos are ok and some have really toned me but it's not my ideal time or workout.
