Howling all of a sudden ?

My puppy (we've had her over 2 months & she's about 20 weeks old) is left in a large room with her crate, water, a bunch of toys and a low window to look out of during the day while we're at work. She's there from about 7am until 10am when the dog walker comes then from 10:30am until 1:20pm when I come home for lunch, then again from 1:40pm until 5:30. We play & let her chew to help tire her out then she goes to sleep in the crate in our bedroom at 11:00pm. She usually sleeps through the night till about 6am without any noise.

DH walks her in the morning for about 15 mins, the dog walker walks her/plays in the yard for the 30 mins, I walk her/play with her at lunch for 15 mins and then after work we walk at least 20 mins.

Now all of a sudden she's started barking, howling & whining in the mornings ! I assume she just wants our attention so we've been ignoring her but do you think that's the right strategy ?? She used to just wait in there quietly then I'd let her out quick before I leave at 8am.

THEN lastnight she was barking, whining & howling from her crate for about 10 minutes, we ignored it and she stopped. I ASSUME she did that because DH came home right after she went to bed and she didn't get to really see him so she wanted out.

Just curious if anyone has had the same issue and if ignoring the behavior works eventually ??

She was good today so maybe ignoring her works !
