So, the waiter recommened a "healthy" dish ...
..I went to cheesecake factory last night. I had posted asking about options and was set to order the lettuce tacos.
The waiter said "just so you know, we have a delicious miso salmon on the menu, if you substitute the rice with a veggie its really low calories".
I said "ok, i'll give that a try..". He also put the sake butter on the side that usually is on the fish.
It was delicious. I didn't use any of the butter. But as I was eating it, i thought "wow this is way too rich to be healthy". He insisted that without that sake butter and rice it was really healthy.
I researched it this morning..the whole plate is like 1900 calories. Granted I didn't get the rice and butter was on the side, but it was noted that for the fish itself with the miso glaze on top is about 1000 calories.
Now..its prob not the waiters fault, but i felt horrible reading that. He really talked it up as a very very healthy low calorie dish which is why i ordered it.
I know its one meal. It'll be ok. Not the end of the world. But i worked REALLY hard this week. Low points, gym every day...i had been down 2 pounds and this morning i was back up a pound.
Lesson learned. Stick to what you planned and don't trust the waiter! Lol.

Re: So, the waiter recommened a "healthy" dish ...
This happened to me as well one time, a while ago. I ordered that same salmon dish thinking it was healthy. The waiter flat out told me that basically NOTHING they serve there is healthy.
That was before their new "light" menu. Now when I go there, I stick with the lettuce tacos or the veggie salad.

I know! My husband said the same thing..but its about 8 ounces of salmon and i guess its seriously soaked in butter and it is glazed pretty heavily with butter and brown sugar and something else...it was so so so good, and i thought "wow i could eat this every day!!". lol...
It may be less calories, not sure how much the rice is but i assumed the rice couldn't be more than 900..the plate of fish and rice is 1900 calories!! INSANE. Here i was thinking MAYBE 500??

Ahh that b@stard.
You're already looking on the bright side, so I'll give you one more - some extra calories won't take away the muscles and strength you undoubtedly improved this week either.
And now you know to trust no one but us and the nutritional information online.

I would be a little annoyed even though it was an honest mistake on his part. At least you enjoyed your meal! You will see the loss again very soon. Just keep it up!!

Well, the bottom line is did you enjoy the meal? You can burn it off! Just remember the time you spent at the Cheesecake Factory. It must have been a good time.
Ok 5 more miles this weekend!

I definitely did, it was great seeing an old friend and the dinner was awesome.
I was just a bit upset to learn just how bad the meal was, thats all.
I'm at a point of my life where it is taking a LOT more to lose 2 pounds a week than it ever did. I'm lucky if i lose 1 pound/week with strict dieting and running/weight training.
I have 15 to lose till my goal and I am just being hard on myself this time...I need to relax, its just that my "cheat" meal is supposed to be today adn i feel like i already had it you know? Lol..its all good though, i am just working out extra hard today. STILL going to enjoy a dinner out with my DH, screw it!! LOL
