White spots on throat
My doctor was packed today so I went to he minute clinic. I have white spots on my throat, low grade fever, ear popping, fatigue and a cough. Because my rapid strep came up negative she won't give me anything. It hurts to breathe and swallow. Any suggestions of something I could try?

that could be a bacterial infection or tonsillitis.
Do you have tonsils still?
When I had my tonsils that's what I would get.

Should I go see my PCP physician and just have them not do the strep again? The pain is getting worse.

I definitely would go to your PCP. Stay on tylenol for the pain.
Not sure you have strep but you definitely have something if you have white spots.

Gargle with white vinegar and warm water it helps with the spots - they actually start to fall off (gross, I know)
I'd see your PCP if your fever goes any higher.
White spots don't always mean strep. Sometimes it comes from a post nasal drip.

Many times the rapid strep isn't accurate for adults... my Dr told me that. I would go to your dr and have them send the culture out. Your dr should be able to tell by looking if it looks like strep.

I had that one time a few years ago, it was sooo painful! My strep test came back neg too. She said it was a virus and wouldn't give me anything either. In a week it cleared up on its own.
I found taking advil really helped the pain in my throat, I guess it took the swelling down. Feel better!
