When do you consider yourself close to goal weight?

Do you feel relieved when you are halfway in weight loss, to your goal weight?

Or do you need to be about 5 lbs away from goal to feel "close" to your goal?

At halfway, I felt good but I had a long way to go so it wasn't really a relief. But I do like the way it sounds when I tell people how many pounds I've lost. It hardly seems real sometimes.

Five pounds away, I'm going to feel like I won the lottery! Chat Icon I think it depends on where you start. When I have only 5 to go, I will have lost 75 pounds. Chat Icon

So um yea, I will consider myself close at that point. Chat Icon

Ok. You bring up some good points.

Some days I go back and forth about if I feel close or not.

Congrats on the huge weight loss already!!

Thank you! Sometimes I get envious reading threads here when people only have 10 or 20 to lose. Chat Icon

Something I've worked on this time around on the weight loss effort is not focusing too much on the number or goal. If I'm truly serious about this being for good, for the rest of my life, it doesn't matter how much longer it takes to get me there.

And other days I want to throw my scale out the window. Chat Icon
