Check this is out, it's awesome. Kind of like a "Living Social" but for restaurants and you can search the place you want to go. Right now, it's mostly NYC based but they will be adding Long Island in the near future!

To sum up how it works: it‘s a website you log onto to book a brunch/lunch/dinner reservation. By booking via the website you gain access to whatever discounts are being offered that day/ week. It does not cost the user anything so it’s really a no brainer if you’re planning on going out to eat.
Right now the majority of the restaurants are city based but they are expanding to Long Island . In the last month they have partnered with some GREAT restaurants (some that are truly my favorite places to eat) so it’s definitely worth taking a look.
Who wouldn't like to save 20% (for free) when going out to dinner? There are no coupons and no hassle – just tell the hostess when you arrive at the restaurant your name and that you booked via Blue Plate (which they will already know but it doesn’t hurt to remind them).

seems cool but I am having trouble navigating the site. I am trying to see Nassau county restaurants but nothing comes up. I think my browser is really old on my work computer though...

Oh, I had mentioned in the OP - they have not broken out on LI yet. The site is doing NYC first/now and will be adding LI restaurants probably by summer.
