Methotrexate

Can anyone tell me what side effects they have from this drug? Are you not allowed to have any alcohol after the shot? How long is this in your system?

I had an injection in November for an ectopic pregnancy.

I didn't have any side effects whatsoever. I was put on bed rest and I waited and waited for the pain and bleeding to come and it never did. Most people would say that's a great thing, but at the time I was hoping to feel something physically because I was numb emotionally.

Anyway, the embryo/fetus ended up getting reabsorbed back into my body and it took about 12 weeks for my beta levels to go back to zero.

p.s. definitely no alcohol. I'm not sure for how long, check with your doctor. And I'm also not sure how long it stays in your system but it depletes a lot of minerals from your body, especially folic acid. HTH

I just two shots of methotrexate for a suspected ectopic.
I was extremely tired and had nausea
Methotrexate is a chemotherapy agent which is aimed at fast growing cells and it metabolized by the liver and so it alcohol so I would stay away
