Giving Meds

What is the secret?
DS is not an eater at all. I have posted about this many times.
Bribery doesn't work and when he gets into full blown crying or tantrum then there's no reasoning.

He used to be ok with his Vitamins and now won't even take them so I put them in his oatmeal (one of the only things he'll eat).

He has an ear infection and what could be pink eye or allergies. The Ped couldn't tell b/c he had his eyes glued shut. Either way the antibiotic will work.
DH put it in his milk so at least he got it.
I just hate having to hide it, but I feel like there's no reasoning. We wanted to give him allergy meds for him last night and he screamed in the corner "NO" till we finally stopped (which was about a half hour or longer)

I still give DS all his meds through a syringe or dropper, he will not take it out of a little cup. He doesn't love it, so sometimes DH has to hold his arms down and head still and I squirt it in there. He screams in protest, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Re: Giving Meds

Sophia won't take anything from a spoon or take a pill so we still use an dropper. And it has to be an infant dropper because the larger ones put too much liquid in her mouth and she gags. She takes the droppers now with no problem but there has been many times we had to just hold her down. Its been getting better as she gets older though. For vitamins she get the chewables and thinks they're candy so she eats them lol.

I do this too. Now at 4 I give DS his fish oil and multivitamin through a syringe and he takes it with no problems. When he was younger it was a huge battle. I would literally sit on him, shoot into his cheek and blow in his face forcing him to swallow. I would have a reward (lollipop / hershey kiss) ready once he swallowed it.
