Ticks
I'm visiting my parents in the 'burbs (eastern suffolk) this weekend and am really concerned about ticks...I heard they're pretty bad this year so far.
I use frontline on my dog (not even totally sure what that does) but she has dark fur, so how do you do tick checks, esp for lime ticks??

Re: Ticks
Our dog Casey is brindle and she has short hair so its easy for us to find the ticks.
She loves getting a tick check, she will lay down and we roll her on her back and we push back her hair so we can see her skin. and when we're done with that we roll her back and do the same on her back.
we have a cat so we couldnt use the topical flea and tick so my vet recommended a tick collar. So far so good.
FYI Lyme disease carrying ticks are super small. My husband actually got Lyme disease from one and we always thought the large ticks were the carriers but its actually the tiny ones.
