WWYD?
My friend and I both had IF issues. She had several failed IVFs and is a little older than me. She messaged me last week that another cycle failed and she hopes I'm doing better than her. I just said Im sorry it didn't work out blah blah and didn't ellaborate on me because I didn't want to shove it in her face. I obviously want to tell her before we come out on Facebook and all, but I feel bad. I know she will be happy for me, but I also know what it's like being in her shoes. Should I just email her and tell her? (we don't speak on the phone ever, just occasional email). I feel like a big ******.

I would email her. With all of her struggles she must know you struggled too. Every time I had a failed cycle and I hear someone who struggles with infertility got pregnant I was always happy for them. I am sure that she would be nothing but happy for you. You have to at some point not feel guilty and know it was a struggle to get where you are and you deserve it.

i definitely think she should hear it from you before hearing from anyone else or FB. When do you plan on telling everyone? i would just tell her when i planned on telling other friends that way she wont feel like you kept it a secret from her and she will completely understand why you waited.

We don't plan to be out on FB til around 16 weeks but will tell family at 13 ish (next week)

I think you have to tell her, I know i would be hurt if it was me in the same position. Its tough but I am sure she will be happy for you!

Close friends know. She is in a different group and while we discuss IF we don't talk all the time.

Thanks girls. It just threw me off b/c we hadnt talked about it in awhile and I didnt want to tell her I was pregnant as she was telling me she had a failed cycle.

I totally agree. Email her around the time that you are telling the rest of your friends. I'm sure she will be happy for you, knowing what you have gone through.
