Applesauce in chocolate chip cookies?

Applesauce in chocolate chip cookies?
Does anyone do this? My MIL said that instead of putting 2 sticks of butter, she put one stick of butter and applesauce to replace the other stick. Her cookies came out soooo yummy!

I've replaced oil with applesauce in cakes and other baked goods and they always come out great! I never tried it in chocolate chip cookies - but I may have to now! thanks!

A lot of the skinnytaste recipes also use pumpkin as a replacement. I'm making her chocolate cupcakes for Mother's Day and she uses a can of pumpkin!

I've done this with brownies and they came out nicely. Now I'm thinking about trying it with cookies...

Iv'e done it in brownies too and they came out great...more cake like than fudgie but were good.

Yup! So good! I use pumpkin mostly though since I don't often keep applesauce in the house!
