What is Burnt Broccoli??

I see so many recipes online and also see many of you make it regularly. Please share which recipe you use (stovetop or oven).

It is basically just roasted broccoli. I made it by spraying some evoo and throwing on some kosher salt and black pepper. I then roasted it till it was crisp and a little burnt. I think I did 450 and it took at least 35-40 minutes - this will depend on how thick the broccoli is. I have done it with broccollini and prefer that. It cooks faster too. Both are very good.

I learned about this from Hayley (Maybeamommy). Her recipe calls for breadcrumbs and garlic moistened with olive oil and then tossed on the broccoli before it is roasted. The only change I make to her recipe is to add a squeeze of lemon juice after it's cooked.

I do a variation of Hayley's, I toss broccoli florets with a little minced garlic, EVOO and salt and pepper. I lay it on a baking pan and then sprinkle with panko breadcrumbs (regular or whole wheat). Roast at 400 for about 20 minutes until the tips get black. I sprinkle parmesan on it as soon as it comes out. So good.

I never tried lemon juice on it, I'll have to do this next time.

I have read about burnt broccoli time and again on here. I have yet to make it but am so looking forward to it! I'm hoping this summer. Fingers crossed!
