Blinking??

DS is almost 3.5, on the spectrum. In the last week he's suddenly started blinking all the time. Trying to figure out a trigger and I can't. Does it on and off but it's becoming more and more frequent. Did it in school as well last week. We thought it was the computer, then the TV, but this weekend we were at a bbq and he was playing outside having a great time and was doing it as well.

This is a new behavior....anyone else's DC do it? Is it a phase do you think? At first I told him to stop which made him do it more so now we're just ignoring it. I don't know what to do. He has little to no stimming behaviors, I'm hoping this is not turning into one. Anyone have experience with blinking?

My son did it, still does every so often. (he's 7) the school referred to it as a "tick". He's funny because he'll pick something up but in a week lose it and move on to something else. (like flicking light switches or finger flicking)

My DD did this too. It lasted for about 2 weeks then it went on to something else....Picking fingers, clearing throat, twirling hair....I basically just ignore it and it stops eventually.

Thanks ladies, ugh, it's so frustrating. I really hope it's just a short phase like it seems to have been with most of your kids. It's like, exaggerated blinking too. You know what I mean? Like he seems totally conscious that he's doing it....I'm wondering if he's getting some sort of sensory feedback from it....
