Is it necessary to monogram backpack and lunch
DS is entering kindergarten is the fall. Wondering if I should get his back pack and lunch bag monogrammed or if it's not really necessary.

No, you can always tag on a luggage tag with their name but they generally know their backpacks & where they put them.

I never did. I always wrote their name on the inside though, just in case.

I use personalized stickers (name & my cell #) for all my kids belongings. They easily come off & stay on really good.

No, use labels. Infact I dont care for monogrammed stuff like that at a young age, I don't like strangers to be able to "know" my kids name

Agreed! Although I got DD a lunch bag with an "S" on it.

I teach first grade and I don't think a single kid in my class had a monogrammed backpack or lunch bag!

My mom was adamant about this when I was a kid. If I buy a backpack that has the option, I will probably put his first name. I'm not letting that dictate my selection but there is a backpack from LL Bean that someone on here suggested that looks great for Kindergarten.

Me either. I just got her initials on it. I thought it looked kind of plain with nothing. I just got her a pink one from Lands End and it needed something.

I only did first and last name initials on the outside (bc PB was offering personalization for free) and full name label on the inside.
